Efficiency coefficient of holographic data storage system
Yeh-Wei Yu, National Central University (Taiwan)

Conventional calculation of performance based on M/# assumes the diffraction efficiency as a simple function of the material thickness. It ignores the three-dimensional distribution of refractive index, which contributes to different diffraction efficiency, and always leads to over-evaluation of the storage capacity. Therefore, we proposed an efficiency coefficient to calculate the diffraction efficiency per refractive index consumption

Meng-Rong Wu Color-mixing Light Source and its Analysis Methodology by Sinusoidal Modulated Frequencies and Three-parameter Sine Fitting Algorithm
Meng-Rong Wu, Xiang-Ting Huang, Yu-Fen Dai, Hung-Chih Hsieh, National United University (Taiwan)

A color-mixing light source was proposed that could measure the multi-wavelength signals in a time equal to that of a single wavelength. The three-parameter sine wave fitting method was used to analyze the mixed signal, and the desired amplitudes of light source signals of various wavelengths could be obtained.

Stefan Petrov Liquid crystal phase retarder based on rewritable photoalignment
Stefan Petrov, Vera Marinova, National Yang Ming Chao Tung University (Taiwan), Bulgarian Academy of Science (Bulgaria); Shuan Huei Lin, National Yang Ming Chao Tung University (Taiwan); Ching Cherng Sun, National Central University (Taiwan); Ken Yuh Hsu, National Yang Ming Chao Tung Univesrity (Taiwan)

In this work photoaligning properties of polymer films containing azobenzene moieties as side-chain were prepared and characterized by means of optical spectroscopy and light induced birefringence. The key point underlying our study is that the photoinduced command surface can be used to obtain controllable ordering for nematic liquid crystal (LC) cell assembly. First, we demonstrate all-optical, polarization dependent LC director reorientation at azobenzene-doped polymer surface. Then we present for the first time to our knowledge, the correlation between the intensity of the writing beam and the polar anchoring energy of the photoalignment, through the dynamics of photo-induced birefringence

Wen-Kai Lin Analysis of Holographic Screen for CGH System FOV Expanding
Wen-Kai Lin, Shao-Kui Zhou, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan), National Changhua University of Education, Changhua (Taiwan); Bor-shyh Lin, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan); Wei-Chia Su, National Changhua University of Education, Changhua (Taiwan)

This study shows the analysis of a holographic screen. The screen consists of a lens phase and a linear grating. The simplified formula for FOV estimation and astigmatism analysis are described. The optical characteristics with different parameters are discussed. The error between Zemax simulation and the simplified astigmatism analysis formula is deficient.

Cheng-Yueh Lin Phase-shifting projected fringe profilometry using 2D fringe projections in the tele-centric system
Cheng-Yueh Lin, Zhi-Hsiang Liu, Wei-Hung Su, National Sun Yat-Sen University (Taiwan)

A 2D fringe pattern is presented for phase-shifting projected fringe profilometry in the tele-centric system. The characteristics of the 2D pattern make it available to discern fringes for surfaces with low signal-to-noise ratios. Even though the inspected surface is projected with only one fringe, unwrapping can be performed without ambiguity.

Chih-Yao Chang Hyperspectrum used for Denture Color
Chih-Yao Chang, Yeh-Wei Yu, Tsung-Hsun Yang, Ching-Cherng Sun, Chih-Hung Chen, National Central University (Taiwan)

Nowadays, humans not only care about the denture quality but also the color of denture.
However, it is very difficult to reconstruct teeth of the exact color. So, we have invented a new
technology to accurately measure the color of dentures.
